I appreciate the author's wrestling and unwillingness to tie up the story in a pretty bow. It is messy and I don't understand it either. I share the following verse with some trepidation. This isn't take two verses and call me in the morning. I share it as one who has wrestled and agonized over the effects of evil. This morning I happened to read this verse and then read this blog. I am encouraged by a life lived in freedom and grace. He was God's man for such a time as this. But sin didn't, and doesn't, have a chance in competition with the aggressive forgiveness we call grace. When it's sin versus grace, grace wins hands down. All sin can do is threaten us with death, and that's the end of it. Grace, because God is putting everything together again through the Messiah, invites us into life - a life that goes on and on and on, world without end. Romans 5:20-21 We mourn. And we mourn.
