Participants: 14 Adult Women (Ministry Staff)

The I AM ART training was designed to equip ministry staff with firsthand experience of the curriculum before serving at camp. Through watercolor painting, linocut printmaking, mixed-media collage, worship, reflection, and group discussion, participants explored the I AM ART themes.

What began as an art training quickly became a deeply personal and spiritual experience. Participants engaged in the creative process while reflecting on God’s work in their own lives. Through each stage of creating, altering, cutting apart, and restoring their artwork, they experienced powerful visual reminders of brokenness, healing, connection, and God’s love.

The workshop fostered:

By the final sharing session, participants openly shared testimonies of God’s faithfulness, encouragement, and restoration. The room was filled with both tears and joy as women affirmed one another and reflected on what God had revealed through the artistic process.

Several participants shared how the experience challenged long-held beliefs about themselves and helped them see God’s love in a new way.

A participant shared: “Cutting the piece of art that I believed was already perfect really hurt. But as I stitched it back together, God reminded me that He is still working with me, healing my wounds and helping me grow.”

Another participant said, “We almost canceled this training because of the challenges leading up to it. Now we see how much we needed it and how God used it to prepare us.”

The training accomplished far more than skill development. It strengthened relationships, deepened understanding of the curriculum, and created space for God to work in the participants’ hearts. The staff left encouraged, equipped, and eager to share the same transformative experience with the children and families they serve.
