One of the most joyful spaces during this year’s I AM ART camp at Opal House was the preschool art class, lovingly led by Lucia, Sandra, and Alicia Chach. These three sisters, rooted in the local community, partnered with U.S. team members Anna Long and Carter Brown to create a safe, wonder-filled space where the youngest artists could explore, play, and grow.

With patience, creativity, and hearts full of care, this team guided preschoolers through a week of hands-on artmaking that was both playful and deeply meaningful.
Art Projects that Spark Identity and Joy

Mosaic Mirrors
Each child designed a mosaic-framed mirror—reflecting the truth that they are wonderfully made and created in God’s image.
Jewelry Making
Using colorful beads and patterns, students crafted wearable art that helped develop motor skills and taught them the joy of creating something beautiful they could take home with pride.
Papier-Mâché Lanterns
The children built papier-mâché lights—glowing reminders that they are a light in their families and communities.
A Classroom of Wonder and Truth

The preschool classroom became more than a place for crafts—it was a sanctuary of belonging. Here, young children were encouraged to be curious, to express themselves freely, and to know they are seen and loved.
The Chach sisters’ connection to the community made the impact even deeper. With gentle guidance and familiar voices, they spoke truth and tenderness into the hearts of these little ones—helping them feel valued and known.
Why It Matters
This preschool class reminded us of a profound truth:
It’s never too early to speak identity, beauty, and purpose into a child’s life.
Even the smallest hands can create meaningful art.
Even the smallest hearts can carry profound truth.
When you support I AM ART, you make spaces like this possible—where creativity becomes a language of healing, hope, and transformation from the very beginning.
